“SVWAG Con”

a.k.a. Congrès So Very Wrong About Games Fun Times Good Vibes Only Trans Rights Are Human Rights Board Game Jamboree (working title)

WHEN: 2025 July 25th-26th 10 AM-late, July 27th 10 AM-5 PM
WHERE: Kingston, Ontario, Our Lady of Fatima, 588 Division Street, Hall B
WHAT: A small convention for playing board games
WHO: The SVWAG “personalities” (citation needed) and other interested parties, likely 60ish registrants
WHY: The fun times, the good vibes

We will be opening registration soon. The expected cost will be $50 CAD, or $5 if you assert that more would be a financial hardship. If things fill up and there’s still demand, there is a chance we could rent the adjoining Hall A (which is larger but less ideal for our purposes).

In addition to a registration fee, you will be expected to leave with a free game. At least one. So make sure you have room to take back some of the stuff we need to get rid of. Yes, this is a non-trivial part of why we’re doing this.

Intended amenities: 

• A code of conduct (similar to that on our Discord) with an ombuds team and enforcement of a team of on-site volunteers

• Math trade

• Board game library (the SVWAG Canon, at a minimum)

• Tables AND chairs!!! So you can sit! At the tables!

Possible amenities:

• Special guests?

• Beverages?

• Entrance music?

• Perks for patrons?
